Welcome to Worship
Welcome, whoever you are and however you got here. We’re glad you’re with us this morning, whether you’re sitting in a pew in Dryville or watching from your kitchen table.
Today’s readings keep coming back to what we actually do, as opposed to what we say we’ll do. In Ezekiel, the exiles complain that God’s way is unfair and that they’re paying for their parents’ sour grapes. God tells them nobody is locked into that, and pleads with them to turn and live. Jesus tells a story about two sons sent out to work the vineyard. One says no and goes anyway. The other says “I go, sir” and never shows up. Paul points the Philippians to Christ, who emptied himself, and reminds them that God is the one at work in them, even in the willing.
Regina Sanders sings “You Have Come Down to the Lakeshore” this morning.
Seminarian Sarah Hohl leading worship.
