Our Vision
Our Vision is to be a place where all are welcome for worship, a home for Girl Scouts, and a resource for our members and the community around us! Come and get to know us. Join us on Sunday and see what is happening in this place.
Our History
What first began as a tiny German Lutheran congregation has grown to over 300 baptized Christians who are joined together with millions of other Lutherans of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are a church with our roots in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Future
We are committed to increasing the members of our congregation and building for the future. We work towards the goal by serving our community through our ministries, weekly worship services, and a growing daycare that serves the Fleetwood Topton Kutztown area.
A Message from Our Pastor
We are not trying to change anyone.
What we offer you and your family is a sacred space wherein change has the potential to take place. The ministry of Jesus changed the course of human history by offering us a simple solution to a complex problem.
The solution is love. Love of God, love of neighbor, sacrificial love, love of self, all these rooted in Christ, alter a person’s way of thinking, acting, and believing.
Here, at Christ Mertz Lutheran Church, we will love your family and allow you the space to be changed into the Christ-like creation God intends for all God’s people.
There is only one expectation: that you be open to the power of God’s Holy Spirit to change your life.
Feel free to stop by and join us for worship. There will always be space for you.

The community of Christ Mertz Lutheran Church prioritizes always reaching out to our surrounding community. With its faith in Jesus Christ, a helping hand to those in need, and being part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we are able to help beyond our borders. We continue to look forward and pray that God blesses our efforts and uses us to proclaim the Good News. Just as those settlers, our ancestors strived to do so many years ago.
