Easter turns the world upside down. The tomb is empty. The women who go to mourn come back running — terrified and overjoyed at the same time. The one who was crucified on Friday is alive on Sunday, and nothing will ever be the same. This is the central claim of the Christian faith, and once a year we gather to celebrate it with everything we’ve got: music, light, words of scripture, and the bread and cup of the Lord’s Supper. Whether you’ve been here every week of Lent or haven’t been to church in years, Easter Sunday is a wide-open door. Come and celebrate. Come and hear the story. Come and see what it means that death does not have the last word.
