Welcome to worship at Christ Mertz in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. However you got here today, out of habit, out of hope, or somewhere in between, we’re glad you showed up. Pull up a seat (or a screen) and make yourself at home.

What’s in this service

This week’s readings keep asking whose name is on us. In Isaiah, God calls Cyrus, a Persian king who doesn’t know the LORD, by name and names him anointed. In Matthew, the Pharisees and Herodians try to trap Jesus with a question about taxes, and he asks to see a coin: whose head is this, and whose title? Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians fits in there too, with its thanks for a church that turned from idols to serve a living God.

Scripture readings:

Isaiah 45:1-7
Psalm 96:1-9
1 Thessalonians 1:1-10
Matthew 22:15-22

The service includes confession and forgiveness, the Prayer of the Day, the Children’s Sermon, the Prayers of Intercession, and Holy Communion. All are welcome at the table, regardless of church background.
