SUMMARY:Great Expectations: An Advent Study of the Prophet Isaiah
DESCRIPTION:As with all prophets\, Isaiah tied together his theological interpretation with the political\, civil\, and secular events of the time.\nEven today\, we hear prophetic voices calling to us from many directions. Both the right and the left cajole and entice us to join their cause. But which\, if any\, is the way to peace\, hope\, joy\, and/or promise? \nJoin us at 10 AM & 7 PM (in-person or ZOOM) for this Advent study on the Thursdays of Advent; 12/1\, 12/8\, 12/15\, 12/22.  The focus texts and themes for the days will be: \nWEEK 1: Peace for God’s People – Isaiah 2:1-5\nWEEK 2: Hope for God’s People – Isaiah 11:1-10\nWEEK 3: Joy for God’s People – Isaiah 35:1-10\nWEEK 4: Promise for God’s People – Isaiah 7:10-16  \nNo reservations are needed. Either come or hop online. ZOOM credentials will be distributed weekly.

SUMMARY:Christmas Eve Worship
DESCRIPTION:Once again\, we will be celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday\, December 24th\, 2022.\nWe have three (3) offerings to accommodate different schedules and needs. We will offer services at 1 PM\, 4 PM\, and 7 PM. \nEach service will have special music as well as the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Each service will be live streamed on our YouTube channel; Christ Mertz Lutheran Church or click WATCH LIVE on our homepage. \nAs one commentator writes\, “In winter’s deepest night\, we welcome the light of the Christ child.”  Join us\, bring your family\, and know the joy of Christmas.  \nAnd for those who may ask… \n1) No\, you do not have to reserve a seat for Christmas Eve worship this year. \n2) Yes\, we will be having Christmas Day worship at our regular time of 9 AM on Sunday\, December 25th\, 2022.
