SUMMARY:A Heartfelt All Saints Sunday: Congregation Crafts 65 Stuffed Animals for Children in Need
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, November 3\, 2024\, the spirit of generosity and love filled the air as the congregation gathered for a truly special event following the All Saints Day service. This year\, in a beautiful display of compassion and community\, the church family came together to create 65 hand-crafted stuffed animals for the children at the Reilly Children’s Hospital at Lehigh Valley Hospital. \nFrom soft turtles and cuddly bears to playful dolphins and penguins\, the church transformed its fellowship hall into a cozy workshop where every stitch and seam was sewn with love. It was an inspiring sight as members of all ages worked side by side\, weaving their prayers and hopes into each handcrafted animal\, each one meant to bring comfort and joy to a child in need. \nThis annual event\, which has quickly become something the congregation looks forward to\, reflects the deep faith and compassion that define this community. The leaders of the event\, who are already planning for future gatherings\, are hopeful that the church will be able to host this heartwarming initiative twice a year—offering even more opportunities to bless children with these comforting gifts. \nAll Saints Sunday is a day to remember the saints of the church\, those who have gone before us\, and the children of God who continue to walk in faith. This event was the perfect way to embody that spirit: by sharing love\, kindness\, and faith with the most vulnerable among us. What a beautiful way to mark this holy day—a reminder that\, as saints\, we are called to care for one another\, especially the little ones\, in every way possible. \nThe stuffed animals are more than just toys—they are symbols of hope and compassion\, created by hands eager to share the love of God. We celebrate not only the work of those who participated but also the joy and comfort that will be felt by children at the hospital for years to come. What an incredible witness to God’s love\, lived out in the hearts and hands of His people!

DESCRIPTION:As with all prophets\, Isaiah tied together his theological interpretation with the political\, civil\, and secular events of the time.\nEven today\, we hear prophetic voices calling to us from many directions. Both the right and the left cajole and entice us to join their cause. But which\, if any\, is the way to peace\, hope\, joy\, and/or promise? \nJoin us at 10 AM & 7 PM (in-person or ZOOM) for this Advent study on the Thursdays of Advent; 12/1\, 12/8\, 12/15\, 12/22. DESCRIPTION:According to Interpol\, the International Criminal Police Organization\, “Cybercrime is a fast-growing area of crime. More and more criminals are exploiting the Internet’s speed\, convenience\, and anonymity to commit a diverse range of criminal activities that know no borders\, either physical or virtual.” \nOne of the most grieved segments of society is seniors. The Brandywine/Topton area churches want to give our seniors tools to stay informed and aware. \nOn July 14\, 2022\, “Chew On This – Lunch and Discussion” will tackle the ongoing issue of cyber fraud\, scams\, and prevention. David Shallcross\, Director of Senior Protection Unit\, Office of Public Engagement\, PA Office of Attorney General\, along with Rep. Ryan Mackenzie\, will: \n\npresent a presentation that will help identify the most common types of scams\,\noffer tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud\,\nprovide information on how to identify the mechanics of what makes a scam work against you\, and\ndispense tips on where and when to report attempts of fraud and scams.\n\nLunch is free although a freewill offering will be available to help defray the cost of the meal.
